Ichian studied painting with the nihonga artist Fūko Matsumoto but he was also interested in zen arts. Cosequently, his painting style is a mixture of both. This gallery shows nineteen of his flower and (or) bird paintings. Click on a picture to enlarge it. Ichian was fond of the horizontal picture format instead of the usual vertical format for scroll paintings.
